These Are A Few Of My (New) Favorite Things

Sound of Music anyone? Love that movie. Anyways, back to our regular scheduled “programming”.

It’s incredible how, with the fast approaching due-date of our little bambino, one can go into total panic mode! Is everything ready? Do we have everything we need? Will all the decor projects be completed for the nursery? And the list goes on and on. Happily, due to the fact that I’ve become an obsessive researcher of all things baby, I’ve stumbled across some lovely sites, and products that make it quick and easy to pick up those last-minute things (and many of them even offer free shipping if you’re ordering online). A whole new world of internet shopping and browsing has opened up to me and I just wanted to share some of my recent favorite discoveries. Unfortunately these companies have not paid me nor am I in any perk’d for mentioning their names, but it doesn’t stop from me from putting lots of their products on my baby “wish list”. (Beware, if looking at adorable baby items completely bores you to tears, stop now!)

Discovery Number One: Boon Products. Yes my friends, next to the JJ Cole line of all things baby, I’m now in love with Boon products (which can be found at any local Target!). Need somewhere to dry bottles? Problem solved. I love how cute and adorable this counter-top saver is! Plus it’s actually two separate pieces for easy cleaning! Bam! Or how about this snack container ball? I feel like our little Bean would love playing with it, and it’s just an added bonus that you can store snacks inside! I’m not sure what it is about this brand, is it the round happy shape of almost all their items? Is it the fact that 10% of all Boon purchases are donated to a children’s charity? Is it simply that their website is light and fresh and just makes you feel good? Who knows! But as of now, they have my stamp of approval.

Discovery Number Two: www.diapers.com . Yes. It’s like the one stop wonder of the baby world, and a lot of their items ship to you for free! Not only do they have almost anything you could ever want for baby (and sometimes at a considerably reduced price) but they have this incredibly adorable line of eco-friendly toys that are awesome. Like this one! Gotta love a cute plush elephant. Or maybe this little stacker?  Books anyone? After just having bought a bunch of books from a chain bookstore, I couldn’t believe some of the prices they had on the same books on the website. One of the books I bought was $10 at the bookstore, where if I had gone here to begin with it only would have been $6. What’s the difference of four buckaroos you ask? I could have bought another book and gotten two for the price of the one! I’m all about expanding our children’s book library.

And finally, for my final new favorite thing. I have to post this picture:

No it’s not technically “baby gear”, but that is a baby in the picture and you know who it is? Ladies and gents, meet Timothy Olson circa 1985. This beauty is going up in a frame in the nursery and man oh man, it topped my “Favs” list faster than anything else. I’m sure our little girl will love looking at this picture of her daddy when “he was her age”. We’re also on the hunt for a picture of me as a baby, but we have yet to find one since most my baby photo albums are packed in boxes awaiting to be moved to my parents’ new house. Soon though my friends, we’ll see a little picture of me and then we can really start to visualize what Baby Olson might look like.

Well now that you’ve probably officially been “babied” out, I’m off to drooling over some cute baby shoes a friend of mine suggested I look into. It’s tough work being an almost new mom. Tough, tough work.
